
Vessel Personnel with Security Responsibilities (VPWRS)
The Vessel Personnel with Security Responsibilities (VPWRS) course is intended for seafarers with designated security duties under a Vessel Security Plan. It provides the knowledge and awareness required to perform these duties in compliance with the Marine Transportation Security Act (MTSA), Marine Transportation Security Regulations (MTSR), and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
The course focuses on security awareness, vessel security responsibilities, and the role of vessel personnel in maintaining effective security on board. Participants gain an understanding of maritime security threats and how their actions support the Vessel Security Officer and the effective implementation of the Vessel Security Plan.
This course is suitable for vessel personnel assigned security responsibilities and supports compliance with Canadian and international maritime security requirements.
The student must be at least 18 years of age to enroll in this course.
