
Fall Protection & Confined Space Entry Training
Participants will learn to identify workplace hazards associated with working at heights and confined spaces, understand regulatory requirements, and apply practical safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries. The course also includes a hands-on learning component, allowing participants to become familiar with common fall protection systems and confined space safety procedures.
This course is intended for industry workers but may also be of interest to joint health and safety committee members, worker health and safety representatives, supervisors, and business owners or operators who wish to improve workplace safety knowledge.
Workers may require additional site-specific on-the-job training to cover equipment, procedures, and confined spaces specific to their workplace.
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand how to work safely in areas exposed to fall hazards
- Identify situations where fall protection equipment is required
- Recognize workplace fall hazards and apply corrective measures
- Identify essential components of fall protection systems
- Explain fall protection regulations and standards in British Columbia
- Identify, define, and classify confined spaces
- Understand permit-required confined spaces and related safety procedures
- Recognize hazards associated with confined space work
- Identify appropriate safety equipment used for confined space entry
- Follow safe work procedures for confined space entry
- Understand the importance of emergency response planning for confined space incidents
A 2-year certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
